Competition Policies

Sportsmanship and conduct policy.

NEWBREED Jiu Jitsu Federation is committed to providing a respectful, fair, and positive environment at all indoor events. We expect all athletes, coaches, spectators, and staff to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and conduct.

Respect: All participants must treat referees, staff, opponents, and spectators with respect at all times.

No Tolerance for Misconduct: Abusive language, unsportsmanlike behavior, physical altercations, or verbal harassment will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the event or disqualification.

Professionalism: Competitors and coaches are expected to demonstrate integrity, humility, and respect for the sport and its community.

Compliance: All attendees must follow event rules, staff directions, and venue policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Penalties and Consequences

Any individual who violates this policy may face one or more of the following actions:

• Immediate disqualification or removal from the event.

Suspension or ban from future NEWBREED events.

Revocation of titles, awards, or rankings earned during the event.

Notification to the competitor’s team or academy regarding the incident.

These standards are in place to protect the integrity of competition and uphold the values of respect, discipline, and sportsmanship that define the NEWBREED community.

Weapons policy.

For the safety of all athletes, spectators, and staff, NEWBREED Jiu Jitsu Federation enforces a strict no weapons policy at all indoor events.

Prohibited Items: Firearms, knives, or any other weapons—whether concealed or openly carried—are not permitted inside the venue, regardless of permit status.

Law Enforcement Exception: Only on-duty law enforcement officers acting in their official capacity are exempt from this restriction.

Enforcement: Event security and venue staff reserve the right to deny entry or remove any individual found in violation of this policy.

Safety First: These measures are in place to ensure a safe and secure environment for all participants and guests.

Dogs policy.

For the safety and comfort of all athletes, spectators, and staff, NEWBREED Jiu Jitsu Federation maintains the following policy regarding dogs at our indoor events:

Service Animals Only: Only service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted inside event venues. Emotional support, therapy, or comfort animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and will not be allowed entry.

No Pets Allowed: Personal or non-service dogs are not permitted inside the competition area, bleachers, or any indoor portion of the venue.

Owner Responsibility: Handlers of service animals are responsible for ensuring their animal is under control at all times and does not interfere with event operations or participants.

Liability: NEWBREED Jiu Jitsu Federation is not responsible for the supervision, care, or behavior of any service animal. Handlers are fully liable for any damage or disruption caused by their animal.

Enforcement: Event staff reserve the right to remove any animal that is disruptive, aggressive, or not properly controlled.

Medical conditions and special needs policy.

All parents and guardians are required to notify NEWBREED in advance of the event regarding any medical conditions, special needs, or accommodation requests. This advance notice allows our team to carefully review the situation and determine the safest and most appropriate way for the athlete to participate. Failure to provide prior notification may result in the athlete being unable to compete.

Refunds and credits policy.

CREDITS OR REFUNDS

You can receive a credit voucher for a future event for any reason until 5:00 PM on the Friday before the event by logging into your account and opting to receive a credit voucher.

You can receive a refund for any reason until 5:00 PM on the Friday before the event by logging into your account and opting to receive a refund.

You can also receive a refund by sending an email to info@newbreedbjj.com by 4pm on the Friday before the event that you are registered for.

VOUCHERS

Vouchers are valid at any of our events nationwide and you do not need to email us unless of course you are having trouble.

VOUCHERS WILL NOT BE ISSUED AFTER THE TOURNAMENT FOR ANY REASON.

Gender policy.
  • All adult competitors must register for the division that matches their assigned gender at birth.
  • We can accommodate an exhibition match or bracket if there are willing participants.
  • Competitors wishing to organize an exhibition match or bracket must email info@newbreedbjj.com ahead of the tournament.
